My Journey

Photography has been part of my life since the 1950’s. A family move to Buenos Aires in 1959 aboard the Argentine State Line ship Rio Jachal led me to a career living in México, Brazil, Japan, Viet Nam.

It is the people I encounter on this journey that is the most rewarding. Many of the street portraits included have accompanying street stories. These describe personal history as related to me by the subjects photographed. My thanks to these people for sharing part of their lives with me.

Cameras of one sort or another have accompanied my travels since the initial Argentine excursion in 1959. I have taken formal course work at The Amon Carter Museum, Ft. Worth, TX ; The International Center of Photography in NYC; and The Santa Fe Photographic Workshops in Cuba. I have been published in California and Tokyo magazines and exhibited in many locations over the decades.

My thanks go to my wife Jane who has been supportive of our vagabond life style for 57 years, most recently moving from Bucks County PA to Southern New Mexico, and now contemplating a move closer to our Wisconsin birthplace.

I also thank our children, Emily and Andrew, who have benefited from, and experienced hardship due to, our frequent relocations..
